About Us…
Women-owned and operated, Roots Knitting Academy & Shop founders, Brianna & Natalie, met as children while attending an event at their local knitting shop! More than 20 years of friendship and over a decade of teaching experience later, they decided to take their knitting journey to the next step! Seeing a need in the needle arts community for more accessible and effective learning to knit and crochet in the midst a global pandemic, two life-long friends came together to spread their knowledge of their craft. Roots was originally founded in January 2022 and opened a brick & mortar shop in January 2025. Roots Knitting hopes to continue to spread their knowledge and love of the needle arts for years to come. Read below to learn more about our amazing team of bad ass ladies.
Meet Our Team
Brianna has over two decades of knitting experience, and she has been providing knitting instruction for all levels for more than 10 years. She enjoys knitting garments, mittens, and taking on new projects that will challenge her to think outside the box. Although she loves a good challenge in her own knitting, Brianna loves to provide instruction to beginner knitters and crocheters!
Natalie has over two decades of crochet and knitting experience. She can always be found knitting a pair of socks or a Christmas stocking, and enjoys knitting & crocheting for her close friends & family. Natalie has been teaching knitting & crochet instruction for more than 10 years & is excited to continue to educate new makers for years to come!
Our mission at Roots Knitting Academy is to provide a curriculum-based approach to knitting and crochet instruction for every skill-level and style of learner to ensure that you meet your individual goals.
